MADELYN ROSE DAVIS
Performer. Teacher. Creator.
ABOUT
If you told 10-year-old Madelyn that she would one day be a voice and acting teacher, she would have jumped for joy.
In my early years as a performer, I was desperate to learn and absorb any information about how to improve as an artist. I was fortunate to take loads of classes and workshops, but I had trouble with the “one size fits all” approach of many lessons. Fortunately, over time, I found the methods and techniques that worked for me, but more importantly, I developed the skill of individualized problem solving. This is the foundational tenant of my acting and teaching work: meeting each individual where they are and assessing how I can best guide them to become the strongest version of themselves.
A little about me: I attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where I studied an eclectic mix ofActing, Anthropology, and Entrepreneurship. In reality, these varied disciplines each inform the way I approach teaching and running my studio. While at UCLA, I was a member of YouthPhonics a Capella, the premiere community service a capella group on campus. With the group, I visited a local high school where we ran their music program after their department’s funding had been cut. I also served as an Executive Director for Colorbox Production Company, an organization that uplifted POC stories and presented original works as well. After graduating, I spent a year in Italy teaching English (clearly I’m drawn to educating!), and have been performing and teaching ever since moving back to California.
You may have seen me in several local productions, with most recent roles including: Miss Honey in Matilda (Palo Alto Players), Rosalie Mullins in School of Rock (CMTSJ), Pritti in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Ray of Light Theatre), and Alyssa Greene in The Prom (Foothill College). When I’m not entertaining or educating, I can be found slacklining at a local park or making ridiculous Youtube videos for my 82 subscribers.
